What exactly is Director of Operations at Nuby Pediatrics? It's a little bit of everything from clinical to technical.
What's one challenge you face in operations, and how do you overcome it? The biggest challenge I face is being when I'm needed in multiple areas and I know I need to stop and take a moment to re-evaluate so I make sure things are done correctly and not skipped.
What's one behind the scenes task people might be surprised you handle? Handling the genetic testing done to get insights through genome and exome sequencing (the collection -> compiling a report of patient diagnoses -> authorization -> send out) and a teeny bit of IT around the office.
Fun Fact: What is your go to way to recharge outside of work? Reading is my go-to, I do a lot of it

1. What advice would you give families to make billing and insurance easier? To make billing and insurance easier, it is important to check to ensure the correct and up to date insurance is on file, as changes occur very frequently. This could be as simple as a member ID change. It is helpful to have an understanding of your insurance policy such as copays, deductible, out of pockets and network coverage

2. What's the most common billing question you get from patient parents? “Why do I have a balance?"

3. What skills are most important in being successful in billing? Good communication, problem solving, good listening skills to understand parents’ questions, organizational skills.
