Newborn Program and New Patient Care

PLEASE NOTE: A biological parent or legal guardian who has provided proper documentation MUST accompany the patient at their first appointment. After the initial visit, anyone listed on the new patient paperwork may bring the child in for additional appointments, as long as they provide a valid ID when checking in at the front desk.

Our Newborn Program is for the new parent that needs a step-by-step guide on how to navigate newborn care before and after your precious little one has arrived. 

We have created the following guidelines to make setting up pediatric care for your newborn as smooth as possible. The Nuby Pediatrics team is here to help you feel welcomed and supported during this transition, so please reach out to our office if you have any questions!

PRENATAL CONSULTATION

Nuby Pediatrics offers Prenatal Consultations to give expecting parents the opportunity to meet our medical providers and ask questions prior to baby's birth. These visits are by appointment only and available at no cost for those interested. We've gathered a list of potential questions you could ask during your prenatal visit!

SETTING UP A NEWBORN APPOINTMENT

Once your baby is born, give us a call and our Newborn Coordinator will walk you through the insurance process required for scheduling. At our office, newborn appointments are typically booked about 2-4 days after hospital discharge. Please bring a valid ID, your newborn discharge paperwork, and insurance card with you to your baby's first appointment.

DR. NUBY'S DADDY BOOTCAMP

Through his nonprofit organization, Dr. Nuby hosts a free "bootcamp" for new and expecting fathers on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9:00 - 10:30 am. This class teaches basic infant care techniques, promotes parent to child bonding, and empowers new dads to care for their own mental health. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!

New Patient Care

Nuby Pediatrics is currently accepting new patients under the age of 17. We encourage those looking for a warm, welcoming, and family-centered environment to follow the guidelines listed below.

Please keep in mind that new patient appointments are offered on Thursday mornings and may be booked up to 6 weeks out. Our office unfortunately does not have the capacity to offer sick or same day visits to non-established patients. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Completed new patient paperwork and the child's full shot record will need to be submitted before scheduling. Any non-biological guardian will also need to provide legal documentation showing guardianship. Paperwork filled out by anyone other than a biological parent or legal guardian will not be valid.

NEW PATIENT REQUEST

Requesting the enrollment of a new patient starts with giving our office a call and providing your child's information along with your email address. After this call, we will send you an email detailing the exact documents and information that we need based on your child's age, insurance, and custody status.

GETTING SCHEDULED

Once the required information is received and processed by our staff, we will give you a call to schedule the new patient appointment. Make sure to bring a valid ID and insurance card to this visit. If you have not already, please give your child's insurance a call and set Marquis Nuby, MD as their PCP.
