Dr. Marquis Nuby started Nuby Pediatrics in 2006 to make a difference in the lives of local children from of all walks of life. ” My goal is to develop long-term, healthy relationships with children and their families, and give every encounter with them my very best effort.”
He was inspired to pursue medicine while obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Whitworth University (where he also lettered in varsity basketball), in Spokane Washington. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, in New York City. He completed a transitional surgery internship at Howard University Hospital, in Washington DC. He proudly served as a Captain in the United States Air Force as a general practice physician. During that time, Pediatrics became the clear choice of profession, when he realized how much he loved children. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, in Houston Texas. He was a Clinical Scholar in Community Pediatrics at the University of San Francisco- Fresno Residency Program, in Fresno California. At which point, he realized he missed Texas and came to Denton, and has been serving local children ever since.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). He is the proud father of two great children, enjoys jazz, sports and martial arts.
